Eight North Tyneside schools have been treated to a hilarious performance and book signing from one of the country’s favourite children’s authors.
Jeremy Strong, the author behind the extremely popular My Brother’s Famous Bottom series, was at the Playhouse Whitley Bay last week to meet youngsters.
The visit was part of Jeremy’s national tour, and saw him read an extract from his latest instalment, My Brother’s Famous Bottom Takes Off.
The schools invited included Star of the Sea, Preston Grange, Christ Church, Monkhouse, Percy Main and Whitehouse primary schools as well as Rockcliffe and Appletree Gardens first schools.
After the performance, the children were give the chance to meet Jeremy and buy a signed copy of the book.
Mitch Dent, a teacher from Appletree Gardens First School, said: “The children really loved the visit.
“Jeremy Strong really captured the children’s attention throughout the performance and they loved hearing about how he got into writing.”
The event was been organised by North Tyneside Council’s Library service in partnership with Authors Aloud UK.
