The Barnardo’s store, in Station Road, is holding the fair on Saturday.

Among the items are Beano, Dandy, Cindy and Bunty magazines and annuals from the 1980s and beyond, Disney books from the 1960s, collections of old bibles, Blue Peter books and a boxed Cindy wardrobe.

Other items include cutlery sets, stamps and albums, a boxed vintage Triton calculator and a boxed Vintage Stanley plow rabbit sliding beading plane.

Irene Todd, branch retail manager, said: “We’re really excited to be having this collectible fair, because we have had so many exciting and interesting things donated and I’m really hoping they go to good homes.

“The year 2016 marks 150 years since Thomas Barnardo founded the charity. Since then Barnardo’s have helped hundreds of thousands of children to grow up happy and healthy – but there is still more work to do.

“The money we raise goes to help vulnerable children and young people in Tyne and Wear, where Barnardo’s run several services for families, including young carers and children’s centres, so this fare will make a real difference.”
