Reminder of free childcare in North Tyneside

Families are being urged to take advantage of free childcare.

Eligible working parents of children aged three and four are now entitled to 30 hours of free childcare.

The offer can help ease the financial burden of childminding for working parents and ensure their youngsters get access to high quality childcare and early education.

Parents must register using the Childcare Choices website in the term before they want to take their entitlement.

Those wishing to take up their 30-hour entitlement during this year’s autumn term must apply to Childcare Choices by August 31.

Anyone registering with Childcare Choices after this date will not be able to claim until the spring term, 2019.

To help with summer childcare, working parents are being reminded that they can also use Tax-Free Childcare, which is worth up to £2,000 per child per year, to pay for regulated holiday clubs during the school holidays.
