Residents invited to discuss local problems

WALLSEND residents are being offered the chance to speak to police and council officials about any issues in their community.

The joint community meeting – organised by Northumbria Police and North Tyneside Council – will take place at the Elmfield Gardens Community Centre, Elmfield Gardens on Wednesday, May 2, from 6pm to 7pm.

Residents and businesses can discuss any local policing or community issues with officers.

Acting Sergeant Tom Spencer will attend with local beat managers PCs Neil Cowen and Gareth Hindle who both police the High Farm area.

A/Sgt Spencer said: “These get-togethers are a great way for people to get to know their local officers and find out what we have been doing to police their local community.

“We’re happy to answer questions and talk about the role of neighbourhood policing in the town.

“We frequently work closely with our colleagues at North Tyneside Council so it will be useful to have representatives at the meeting who can also answer local queries.

“We look forward to meeting local people and providing residents with crime prevention advice too.”
