A bell-ringing bonanza is set to sound over North Shields over the next few days.

Ringers at Christ Church in Preston Road will ring the bells at 6pm today (Thursday) to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Tomorrow, at 7.15pm, the bells will ring to welcome Tynemouth Scout Association to its annual St George’s Day service.

And on Saturday, at 11am, the ringers will join thousands around the country in the Ringing for England campaign to celebrate the patron saint.
