Residents in North Shields were out in force to complain about bad service they received from energy and communications suppliers.
A two-day roadshow organised by Ombudsman Services saw residents bring their gripes to the team.
Last year in North Shields, more than 490,000 complaints were made while over 80,000 were not acted upon – with only 150 energy and communications complaints brought to Ombudsman Services from North Tyneside.
Lewis Shand Smith, Chief Ombudsman, said: “It’s important residents in North Shields know their consumer rights. Complaining should be an easy, hassle-free experience – if you’re still in a dispute with a company after eight weeks, Ombudsman Services can look into the case for free and provide a resolution.”

“We helped a lot of people lodge complaints and it was great to see everyone’s enthusiasm for standing up for their consumer rights.’’
