The Red and Golds opened brightly with a Simon Ayre penalty being followed by a Liam Bowman try, converted by Ayre, for 10-0.

Ayre added a second penalty before Redcar got on the score sheet via try from Craig Newlands and a penalty from Daniel Addison.

The sides changed ends with Rockcliff leading 13-8, and they soon pulled away with three tires from Charlie Muzzlewhite, Ayre and Rob Hamilton for 28-8.

A final flourish from Redcar saw Newlands touch down for the second time, converted by Addison for the final score of the game and 28-15.

Rockcliff are in league action again next weekend away to Blyth.
