Salon lands charity’s dancing showcase

A HAIR salon will be looking for perm-manent charity work as it displays its talents at an event.

Staff at SO&SO Hairdressing in Park View, Whitley Bay, will be taking care of the hair requirements for north east celebrity contestants, judges and hosts at a Strictly Come Dancing-style event in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice.

And Kelly Taylor and her team at Taizen Skin Therapy will be doing all the make-up at the event on Sunday at the Gateshead Hilton Hotel.

Salon owner Tony Foster said: “It’s going to take a lot of organisation and fast fingers to get everyone ready in time for their big moment on the dance floor, but it is going to be an amazing event and for such a fantastic charity.

“I’m proud of the work our team produce on a daily basis for clients at our salon and to be asked to be involved in something like this is a great honour and one we are very much looking forward to.”

Amy Wilson, community fundraiser at St Oswald’s, said: “We are thrilled that SO&SO Hairdressing are supporting St Oswald’s Strictly Dine and Dance event.

“The SO&SO team is going to bring some real glitz and glamour to the occasion and really help our celebrities and dancers look the part.

“We are extremely grateful for their support.”

Contestants lined up include former Newcastle United defender John Beresford, Glenn McCrory and BBC’s Jeff Brown and Hannah Bayman.
