A scheme is hoping to ignite further savings for residents on their heating bills.

North Tyneside Council is once again promoting a ‘collective energy switching scheme’ to help households reduce their gas and electricity bills.

Run by iChoosr, the initiative brings customers together to negotiate a better deal for their energy bills.

Coun John Stirling, cabinet member for environment, said: “I’m really pleased we’ve teamed up with iChoosr again – this will be the fourth time we have done so.

“The savings made for our residents last time were brilliant and far exceeded our expectations.

“By joining a group auction, iChoosr can hopefully secure a much better deal for gas and electricity – the more people who join, the better deal you’re offered.”
