Pupils at Norham High School in North Shields welcomed a screenwriter, graphic novelist and conservationist to their school.

Andy Briggs, who wrote on movie projects such as Judge Dredd, Freddy vs Jason and Foreverman, visited the school for a morning full of vine swinging ‘jungle fever’.

Andy hosted an interactive session with Year 7 and 8 pupils showcasing his New Adventures of Tarzan books, which finished with a jungle quiz with lots of cheering and roaring.

He also spoke passionately about the work he is doing with charities to save wildlife and create a better life for children in the Congo, and pupils bought books where a percentage of all profits goes to the charity.
