A search is on to find Whitley Bay’s pinball wizard.
Organisers of the Whitley Bay Film Festival are holding tournaments in the town for people to win tickets to the sold-out screening of ‘Tommy’.

Roger Daltrey is visiting the festival on August 1, to mark the 40th anniversary of Ken Russell’s classic 1975 movie, with the grand final of the pinball competition being held the previous night.
Festival director Ema Lea said: “Tickets to see Tommy have completely sold out so the only way to get any now is through skills on the pinball table.”
Pinball machines are in The Jam Jar Cinema, The Firestation, The Avalon Bar, and Parade and the tournament is open until July 30.
The player with the highest score on each table will win two tickets for the film screening and enter the grand final. The winner of the grand final with be crowned Pinball Wizard on stage at the Playhouse Whitley Bay before the question and answer session with Roger Daltrey.
