SEGEDUNUM is gearing up for an action-packed summer of events.
The Wallsend museum will play host to a Civil War re-enactment on Sunday, August 7, when the site will be brought to life by Cavaliers, who will display the fascinating weapons and equipment of the English Civil War.
And on Sunday, August 14, visitors will be able to meet Thanos, a fearsome gladiator, and younger visitors can join in with his Gladiator School to see if they measure up to his tough standards.
On Saturday, August 20, the Romans will once again take over the fort, as Colchester Roman Society descends to protect the fort from barbarian attack.
Geoff Woodward, manager of North Tyneside Museums, said: “As well as some exciting re-enactment events, we’ll also be holding all sorts of family activities over the summer, from drumming masterclasses to hands-on Roman crafts.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming as many people as possible to the fort this summer.”
