Shields have to settle for a point

Paul Robinson’s first half strike wasn’t enough for Shields as Marske fought back in the second half to take a point at the Daren Persson Stadium.

Robinson’s freekick helped Shields in to a half time lead, but Glen Butterworth scored for Marske to earn the visitors a point.

Jack Donnison fired wide from just outside the box for the home side before Sean McCafferty made two good saves

On the stroke of half time Shields were awarded a freekick on the edge of the box. Robinson’seffort deflected off the wall and deflected into the net for the opener.

Butterworth rifled ome after 55 minutes and late in the game, as Marske went looking for a winner, they got in behind McCafferty, but somehow the ball rolled across the face of the goal but did not cross the line.
