Frank’s the Flooring Store, one of the north east’s largest independent retailers with 25 outlets, selected Macmillan as its chosen charity and organised a year of fundraising activities, including a fancy dress day.

More than £8,000 was initially collected after generous donations from staff, customers and suppliers, and the sum was trebled by Frank’s to make a grand total of £25,844. The money has now been handed over to Michelle Muir, senior fundraising manager for Macmillan.

Jason Maguire, managing director of CreateCity group, said: “We’re delighted we have raised so much for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
