Shops can go to town with festive display

The competition will be run through social media site Facebook – at where entries will be posted and the public can ‘like’ their favourites.

“I’d also like to urge all our local retailers to pull out the stops in this fun and festive initiative, and help us make our high streets even more attractive.”

Any of the borough’s high street stores can enter the competition, and prizes will be awarded for displays in the town centres of North Shields, Wallsend and Whitley Bay, as well for smaller ‘out-of-town’ shopping areas.
