A site manager who oversaw a housing development in Shiremoor has received a top award.

Neill Findlay, who was site manager at Bellway Homes’ Earsdon View development, received a coveted Seal of Excellence Award.

Neill, now an area construction manager, received the 2013 Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council along with colleagues Anthony Douglas and Michael Keeley.

The trio had travelled to York Racecourse in September for the Pride in the Job regional award ceremony with the hope of winning a Seal of Excellence.

Neill said: “To be awarded a Seal of Excellence is a great honour and something that I am very proud of. Speaking on behalf of Anthony and Michael, I can say that we work with very talented teams and it goes to show that with hard work and commitment you are rewarded.”

Don Anderson, construction director at Bellway Homes, said: “This is a prestigious award and one which Neill, Anthony and Michael should deservedly be recognised for.

“Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards of house-building.

“This comes at a great time for both Neill and Anthony who have recently been appointed as Area Construction Managers, and as a company it is fantastic that three of our employees have been recognised by the industry for the high standards of work they deliver day on day.”
