SPEAKER: Relaxing time with former politician
What a lovely relaxing way to spend the last Sunday afternoon in January, listening to the eloquent Michael Portillo talking about his Life of Two Halves in a packed Whitley Bay Playhouse.
The now presenter and entertainer, who was once tipped to be Prime Minster, talked for around 90 minutes on his life in politics, his Spanish father and Scottish mother, and the fascinating time he now has researching and travelling on trains throughout the British Isles, Europe and beyond.
The questions at the end were fascinating and each one he answered with insight and humour.
The book signing in the foyer was also popular.
