Harry Potter fans will be left spellbound when the films are shown in town centres with some special visits by lookalikes.
On Friday and Saturday, the first two films – The Philosopher’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets – will be shown at the Forum shopping centre in Wallsend, with a Harry Potter lookalike making an appearance on Friday.
Next Monday and Tuesday, The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire will be shown at Park View shopping centre in Whitley Bay, with a Professor McGonagall lookalike appearing on the Tuesday.
Finally, The Order of the Phoenix and The Half Blood Prince will be screened next Wednesday and Thursday at the North Shields customer first centre, with a Hagrid lookalike making an appearance on the Thursday.
Admission is free, but places are limited and subject to availability on the day.
Coun Eddie Darke, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “The regular programme of events in our town centres is always popular and I’m sure these Harry Potter films will provide great entertainment for shoppers, especially with the added attraction of lookalike appearances.”
