SPORTS students are celebrating after notching up a 100 per cent success rate.

Every single one of the students doing foundation degrees in exercise, health and fitness and in sports coaching programmes at Wallsend’s Tyne Metropolitan College passed their exams this summer.

Those studying for two years at TyneMet can do a third year at Sunderland University to top up their qualification to a full honours degree.

Warick Stephenson, head of care, sport and leisure at the college, said: “I am delighted with the fantastic achievements of the students.

“The 100 per cent pass rate on both courses has been made possible not only by the dedication and commitment shown by the students, but also through class sizes being limited to 12 students.

“Students also have access to excellent facilities and resources at TyneMet, which include a bespoke sports lab and specialist massage and treatment rooms, and all of the tutors have a vast knowledge of teaching at this high level.”
