STEPHANIE Hewson is out to prove she’s not just a pretty face.
The 25-year-old, pictured, formerly of Park Parade in Whitley Bay but now living in Seghill, is in the running to be named as this year’s Face of Newcastle.
That accolade would also earn the former Whitley Bay High School pupil a place in the final of a European beauty contest and the chance to take part in a Disney pageant.
The Face of Newcastle contest will be held tomorrow, with the winner going on to represent the north east in the final of the Face of Europe 2011 contest.
The contender getting the most phone or text votes will win a people’s choice award, offering the chance to vie for the overall winner’s title, so Stephanie is appealing to News Guardian readers for help.
She said: “I’ve entered Face of Newcastle this year as I think it’s something every young woman should do.
“You can showcase not only your beauty but also your brains and allow your personality to shine while feeling like a princess.”
To vote, call 0901 656 1530 and press 88 when prompted, or text face88 to 84205. Votes cost 60p plus standard network charge, and lines close tomorrow at 7pm.
The Face of Europe finals will be held in Paris on Thursday, December 8, with the winners receiving modelling contracts as prizes.
