A young blogger has picked up a regional award just weeks after launching her blog.
Holly Olivia won the Best Student Blogger award at the first ever North East Blogger Awards, held at Lane7 in Newcastle last week.
The Queen Alexandra Sixth Form student started her online journal six weeks ago while studying textiles, business and photography.
Holly said: “I have only been blogging for a month and a half so to win was amazing.
“I started blogging because I’m an avid reader of other blogs and wanted to share my life in a similar way.
“I blog about thrifty/vintage fashion, lifestyle and I am starting to include more DIY posts, as that’s what I’m interested in.
“I’m currently working on my first series of DIY posts about turning a vintage suitcase into a sewing box.”

The awards were created by Newcastle PR agency O PR.
Managing director Kari Owers said: “We were astounded at the amount of blog nominations which ran into the hundreds and hundreds, and picking winners was very difficult as the breadth and quality of blogging in the north east is obviously really strong.”
