Students learn about budgets

STUDENTS have been praised for helping others learn how to manage their finances.

Ten youngsters at Wallsend’s Churchill Community College and North Tyneside’s young mothers’ unit in North Shields have been taking part in the Barclays’ Money Skills programme and using what they learnt to offer advice to fellow students.

The students went on a trip to the bank’s headquarters at London’s Canary Wharf and were presented with certificates by borough mayor Linda Arkley in recognition of their efforts.
