Subscription will still be a headache

We are told the consultant document for educational change does not include plans to close schools or alter the three-tier system at the coast (News Guardian, September 25).

Fine. Then don’t expect any significant educational change at the coast. Expect over and under subscription to continue to be a headache for many headteachers.

Wake up, Norma Redfearn. Please say what you mean and dispense with this tepid rhetoric. If you are ‘doing an excellent job’ and ‘our schools system is amongst the best in the country’, I cannot see a problem.

Also, Peter Mortimer is quite right about the half-time pies at Whitley Bay FC. Bring ‘em back.
