Residents looking to get back into shape after overindulging during the Christmas period are being offered a helping hand.
North Tyneside Council’s leisure service is offering support through Contours membership for only a £5 joining fee, with nothing else to pay until March.
Contours focuses on finding the right approach for each individual member to achieve their health goals.
Membership gives access to all the facilities at the Lakeside Centre in Killingworth, Hadrian Leisure Centre in Wallsend, Tynemouth Pool, Waves at Whitley Bay and The Parks in North Shields – a total of five gyms, four pools two spas and 195 classes.
The Contours offer applies to 12-month memberships purchased by February 10.

Coun Eddie Darke, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “January is a time when many people take a close look at their lifestyles, with the intention to have a fitter, healthier year ahead.
“Contours offers a fantastic range of activities, at five different sites, offering convenience and choice to members.
“We hope this introductory offer will encourage people to come and see how we can help them achieve their New Year resolution.”
