A photographer is looking to help Tynemouth take a step back in time.
The special vintage experience is the brainchild of Laura Pearman and will see businesses come together at The Grand Hotel in Tynemouth on Wednesday, August 31.
Tynemouth Surf Co. will be supplying some vintage 1950s surfboards, while there will be a hairstylist and make-up artist, with residents invited to dress up for the event.
Laura and her team will spread out onto Longsands beach for the day, shooting in a variety of beachside set-ups.
Laura said: “In my quest for delivering a pin-up purely on location, across the globe, I feel there would be no better place than to start with than where I grew up.”
The event will be hosted by the poster girl of #BeachBumPinUps Kathryn Kaupa of ‘Miss Kathryn’s Misstakes’ FATshion blog.
Kathryn will be on-set on the day to help new pinups feel at ease before their call time.
Laura added: “It’s true, I’m in love with the sea! I find it so inspiring.
“There is so much great pinup that can be shot on the beach. Looking at what our Cali and Aussie sisters are turning out, I knew that I wanted to do something thoroughly British.”
Kathryn said: “I felt so confident after my shoot with Laura. In my view every gal needs to experience what it feels like to be a Vintage mermaid, at least once in her lifetime.”
