TAX: Will we ever see benefit?

As a homeowner, I am in absolute disbelief at the council putting up council tax above the rate of inflation to pay for adult care.

It always charged my parents for anything to do with care when they got old.

I got a letter asking when I could sell their house once they had gone into a home with Alzheimer’s. I was even told they were not entitled to a social worker as they were self-funding.

I do not see why homeowners should pay for a service they will not receive when they get old.

I believe the council will just turn its back on them, as it did my parents.

I fear councillors will just give themselves another inflation-busting pay rise or spend the money on another rusting crane.
