Earsdon Grange Care Home, in Whitley Bay.

Earsdon Grange care home, in Thorntree Drive, Whitley Bay, is inviting members of the public to the event.

The tea party, themed after a coronation-style street party, will feature a selection of refreshments, cakes and sandwiches fit for royalty.

It will take place on Thursday, April 21, at 10.30am. Entry is free and entry is open to all.

The home is hoping their tea party will bring people of the community together to share in the celebrations.

This is also the latest event in the home’s Silver Social, a monthly free-to-attend social club which features a varied programme of activities and entertainment for attendees to take part in.

Nicola Bell, home manager, said: “We thought what better way is there to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday than with a street party-style tea party and social.”

“The street parties of yesteryear brought people of all ages within the local community together and we hope that ours will do the same, with a memorable day for residents, families and visitors.”
