Teenager found injured outside Camperdown pub dies in hospital

A TEENAGER has died after he was attacked outside a pub in North Tyneside in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Northumbria Police said the 19-year-old man was attacked outside the Halfway House Pub, in Station Road, Camperdown, at around 1:20am.

The victim was treated at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary in a critical condition, but he has now died.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today.

Police said two 17-year-olds were charged with grievous bodily harm prior to the man dying.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone who saw the assault or who was in the area at the time to come forward.
