A star-studded cast called into Whitley Bay this week to launch this year’s pantomime.
The Playhouse Whitley Bay will welcome back Blue Genie Entertainment with their pantomime Beauty and The Beast for the forthcoming Christmas season.
Television beauty Roxanne Pallett will take on the role of Belle and former Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards will be Gaston as they are re-united after performing in ITV’s Dancing on Ice in 2009.
Jeremy was the third contestant to be voted off the show after a skate-off with ex-rugby player Ellery Hanley.
Roxanne was sixth in the show and wowed the audience with Daniel Whiston and daredevil moves such as the ‘headbanger’.
Roxanne first hit TV screens in ITV’s Emmerdale in 2005, winning critical acclaim for her emotional portrayal as Jo Stiles-Sugden.
Since then she has been in numerous theatre shows including Rock Around The Clock, Statin’n’Steel and the National 40th anniversary tour of The Rocky Horror Show.
Jeremy’s first big break was as Kurt in the hit Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, a role he played for four years before moving to BBC1 to join prime time drama Holby City, in which he played Danny Shaughnessy.
They will be joined by top Wallsend comic Steve Walls, who is returning for his fifth year and will play Idle Jacque the Jester.
Beauty and the Beast will be packed with great songs, amazing dance routines and plenty of laughter in a pantomime for all the family.
Beauty and The Beast will be performed at the Playhouse Whitley Bay from Saturday, December 13, to Sunday, January 4.
Tickets are priced from £9 and are available by visiting the box office in Whitley Bay from 10am to 4pm on weekdays and 10.30am to 2.30pm on weekends, by calling 0844 248 1588 or visiting www.Playhousewhitleybay.co.uk
