Superheroes and film stars joined thousands of people for all the fun of the fair.
More than 2,000 descended on Whitley Lodge Shopping Centre, in Whitley Bay, for the annual Whitley Lodge Community Fair.
Organisers Whitley Lodge Community Spirit (WLCS) promised bigger and better and true to their word they delivered with dedicated zoned areas for children’s activities, music, food and local business stalls.
Special superhero and princess guests were the stars of the show, creating magical memories for their young fans.
A total of £2,500 was raised, going towards the funding of next year’s fair plus improving community facilities within Whitley Lodge itself.
John Evans, WLCS event manager and owner of The Treehouse, said: “It was a fantastic afternoon out for all the family to enjoy with so many of the local community coming together to support the event.”
Canon Sue Hart, Reader at St Mary’s Parish Church and Chair of Whitley Lodge Community Spirit, added: “On behalf of Whitley Lodge Community Spirit we would like to thank all the volunteers, individuals and groups who generously gave up their time to organize an event on this scale including the local businesses, churches, community groups and North Tyneside Council.”
