Tobias’ selection maintains squadron’s record

A Longbenton air cadet has been appointed as Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant’s cadet for 2015.

Cadet Flight Sergeant Tobias Mill, 17, of Monkseaton, was selected from more than 1,000 to attend functions and events with Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant Sue Winfield, OBE.

It’s a privilege to perform the role and I’m really thankful to have been selected. I can’t wait to perform my duties.

He was chosen due to his hard work, high standards and personal qualities as a cadet at 2344 (Longbenton) Squadron.

Tobias, the fifth squadron member selected in six years, said: “It’s a privilege to perform the role and I’m really thankful to have been selected. I can’t wait to perform my duties.”

Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Gary Richardson said: “Tobias is an outstanding example and ambassador for young people.”

“His positive attitude, friendly manner and meticulousness have been awarded and we’re all tremendously proud of him.”
