Toy donations have helped raise thousands of pounds for charity.
During the eight-week Argos Toy Exchange campaign, more than 600 bags of pre-loved toys were donated to Barnardo’s shops in Whitley Bay, Shiremoor and Wallsend.
They were then sold, raising £7,296 for the charity supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable children.
Barnardo’s director of retail and trading, Gerard Cousins said: “This is the third year of the partnership and we are delighted that the Argos Toy Exchange has again proved such a success, particularly in such a challenging economic climate.
“All profits from selling these toys are ploughed directly into Barnardo’s work with vulnerable and disadvantaged children, so a huge thank you to everyone who has taken part.”
The Toy Exchange is in the third year of a partnership between toy retailer Argos and children’s charity Barnardo’s.
It encouraged Argos customers to donate their pre-loved toys to be sold through Barnardo’s network.
