TRANSPORT: Come along to campaign
There is a meeting at Whitley Bay Library of North Tyneside Public Transport Users Group on Thursday, July 21, from 5pm to 7pm.
If you think public transport, buses, trains, Metro, walking and cycling is letting us down, then come along and help us campaign to improve it.
Among the issues we will include the new Bus Bill, which may offer a route similar to London franchising. It was previously called the Quality Contracts Scheme (QCS) for Buses. Our councils had campaigned for QCS. This Bus Bill is going through the legal process in parliament and is being discussed by our representatives on transport committees, who are part of the North East Combined Authority.
We will also be talking about how we can campaign on incidents where people have been injured on pavements and had claims against North Tyneside Council.
