Staff brought some Christmas cheer to children who spend the festive period in hospital.
Over the last eight years, the Wallsend branch of Hays Travel has collected gifts for children who will be in hospital for it’s Santa’s Sack appeal.
And this year they donated presents to the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle.
Branch manager Darren Wetherell said: “We always like to help lift the spirits of the children by delivering presents to them during their stay in hospital Christmas is a special family time and being in hospital can be very stressful on other family members.
“Hays Travel started the appeal from their Community Partnership Fund and asked customers for donations. We had a fantastic response, with some fantastic gifts donated. The presents were delivered to the children’s wards in the run up to Christmas.
“It gives us great satisfaction helping others in our local community and without the help of our customers, the appeal would not be so successful.”
