COMMUNITY workers in North Shields have unveiled a brand new look thanks to a generous paint donation.
The Cedarwood Trust has been in operation on Avon Avenue for more than 30 years and currently hosts a wide variety of community-engaging activities, such as coffee mornings, support groups and Citizens Advice Bureau sessions.
As the trust is based in an area populated by shops, the workers were keen to inject some colour into the facility’s exterior to help it stand out and encourage more local residents to come and visit.
Volunteers, including users and helpers from the trust, rolled up their sleeves to completely transform the popular garden area with brightly coloured paints, donated by Dulux Decorator Centres in Newcastle as part of the Let’s Colour Project.
Project leader, Phil McGrath, said: “Our trust has been actively helping people in the local area for many years and the place had started to look a little tired over time.
“As we operate as a charity, donations like this one from Dulux are greatly received and the volunteers have done a brilliant job, the garden looks so striking now.
“We hope our new image encourages even more locals to visit and see how we can help them.”
