Volunteers are being sought to help a trust improve education standards in the borough.
The North Tyneside Learning Trust (NTLT), a charity that appoints two governors to each of 44 schools, currently has several vacancies across primary, secondary and special schools.
Trust Governors have a broad range of different skills and expertise and the Trust is particularly keen to hear from individuals with finance, HR, property and facilities management backgrounds.
Jacqui Sugden, who is leading the recruitment drive, said: “Governors are an integral part of any successful school and I’m encouraging anyone who believes they have the skills to support school leaders to come forward.
“You can make an invaluable contribution with a commitment of just a handful of hours a month, and many tell me how being involved helps them develop too.”

There are vacancies in Burradon, Denbigh, Balliol and Whitehouse primary schools; Longbenton Community College, Seaton Burn College, Monkseaton High School; Monkseaton Middle School; and Benton Dene and Beacon Hill schools.
