TT2, which manages the Tyne Tunnels, has become a partner to the government’s Disability Confident campaign thanks to its long track record in supporting disabled staff, stakeholders and members of the community.

The business backs the Tunnel 2K International Wheelchair Race, which is in its 15th year.

And in the workplace Matthew Ainsley, who has Down’s Syndrome, has worked as office assistant two days a week for the past three years, receiving training to be confident in travelling to work without the need of a carer.

TT2 also runs an education business partnership, working with students with special educational needs.
