Two new recruits for policing team

PC Carolyn Cahart-Harris and PC Jordan Sadler are getting to know their new surroundings after joining the North Shields Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Over the coming days, they will be out and about getting to know members of the public in their areas.

Jordan held his first engagement surgery event since coming on board earlier this week.

Carolyn will cover West Chirton, Norham High School and Tyne Tunnel Trading Estates areas in her role as Neighbourhood Beat Manager – having joined the team from 24/7 patrol after becoming a police officer in 2015.

She has previously worked as a Community Support Officer in North Shields town centre. In total, she has 10 years of service with Northumbria Police.

Jordan has joined the team as Neighbourhood Beat Manager for North Shields town centre and Fish Quay.

He has been with Northumbria Police for five years, starting his career as a call handler in the force’s Communications Centre.

Jordan became a police officer in December 2014 and has been working in North Tyneside since then.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Guy Morgan for North Shields and Whitley Bay has welcomed the two new members of the team.

He said: “Both of our new recruits are keen, motivated and looking forward to engaging with the community of North Shields.

“From my point of view, Carolyn and Jordan will be great additions to the neighbourhood policing team and will allow for further resources to address and support other people in the area.
