Tynemouth named among best places to live in UK
A popular coastal town has been named among the top places to live in Britain.
Tynemouth is included in the North East section of the ‘Best Places to Live in Britain’ by The Sunday Times.
It is one of 11 north east and eight Yorkshire locations included in the guide, which is published on Sunday.
The annual supplement combines data and statistics such as crime rates, house prices and school performance with the local knowledge and expertise of Sunday Times writers to compile the definitive top locations to make your home.
The locations were selected for offering the best quality of life to the widest number of people, and combining desirable features such as a positive community spirit, good local shops and services and attractive outdoor spaces.
The Sunday Times Best Places to Live in Britain Part 1 is the first in a two part series.
This weekend it reveals the best places to live in the, North and northeast, Midlands, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
Part two, published on March 19, will reveal the best places in the Southwest, East, London, Scotland and the Northwest, as well as the overall best place to live in the UK.
Home Editor Helen Davies said: “Britain is full of great places to live, and our annual supplement celebrates the richness on offer from bustling market towns and buzzing city centres to sociable suburbs and sleepy hamlets.
“We go beyond dry statistics, drawing on personal experience and the expertise of our writers, to create the definitive list of the best places to live in the UK.”
Readers will be able to join in the conversation online by sharing their favourite places and why they love them using the hashtag #bestplacestolive.
