There’ll be some fishy figures at a North Tyneside visitor attraction this weekend.
Tynemouth Blue Reef Aquarium will be counting up its residents in its annual stock take over Saturday and Sunday.
And visitors are invited to join in the count and help record the numbers of certain species, such as sharks, rays and seahorses.
Expert staff will then do an official check and the child who comes closest to the correct number will win a family pass to the aquarium.
Rosie Wiggin, from the aquarium, said: “January has always been the time of year when we do an official check on all our stock numbers. We thought it would be a good idea to involve the visitors in the whole process as well and turn it into a fun activity.
“Obviously some creatures will be easier to count than others.”
