Time is running out for youngsters to sign up for a summer citizen programme.
A few places remain for VODA’s National Citizen Service programme, which starts on Monday, July 28.
Youngsters aged 16 and 17 are given a chance to spend two weeks away from home plus an additional week running their own community programme.
During the first week young people will spend five days at an outdoor residential centre in Allendale or Windermere taking part in team activities such as raft building, abseiling and canoeing.
Robin Fry, VODA’s NCS co-ordinator, said: “We are offering an amazing three weeks for young people who are keen to challenge themselves, make new friends, improve the lives of others ad develop their skills for later life.”
The cost is £50. For more information contact Robin Fry on (0191) 643 2626 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
