Volunteers sign up for M&S big beach clean-up

Volunteers have just one week to sign-up to Marks & Spencer’s Big Beach Clean-up taking place on April 30 on Whitley Bay beach.

A number of local litter-pickers, community groups and organisations have already registered to take part and will be joining North Tyneside Council’s Deputy Chairman Tommy Mulvenna and M&S Silverlink employees from 10am in a bid to scoop up as much litter and debris as they can.

Local volunteers keen to take part in the clean-up on the day can do so through the Big Beach Clean-up partner, the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), by visiting www.mcsuk.org/foreverfish. After scouring the beach for rubbish, helpers will be treated to a beach-side BBQ, live entertainment and a money off M&S voucher.
