A popular high street name has opened its newest store at a shopping park.
Wilko opened the doors to its new Silverlink store today (Wednesday) at 9am.
The new store, which has taken over the former Next shop, has created 60 new jobs.
Lucy King, from Alzheimer’s Society, was on hand to cut the ribbon marking the store opening, joined by Wilko HR and talent director, Cath Fox, and Wilko Silverlink store manager, Mark Ternent.
And the first 100 customers through the door received one of 100 tickets to win a prize, including £20, £10 and £5 Wilko gift cards, as well as gifts including a Wilko faux fur throw, Wilko copper lantern and Wilko copper toaster.
Mark said: “We know shoppers will be impressed by the quality and value we have to offer, it is the perfect time to come and browse our collections ready for spring”
Michael Bell, asset manager at The Crown Estate, owners of Silverlink Shopping Park, said: “We are really excited to see the arrival of Wilko at Silverlink.
“The new store is fantastic for the park, and is a great addition for our shoppers.
“We are sure Wilko will be hugely popular and we wish them every success with their new store.”
