Artists lined up for the Mouth of the Tyne Festival are proving popular.

Tickets for the Paul Weller concert at Tynemouth Piory and Castle sold out in less than 48 hours while hundreds of tickets have been snapped up for UK pop band Lawson, who are performing on Friday, July 11.

And tickets for the trio of artists – Nadine Shah, Midlake, and John Cooper Clarke – performing at Playhouse Whitley Bay as part of the event are also now on sale.

The Mouth of the Tyne Festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary this July and is organised by North Tyneside Council, supported by Port of Tyne, Kier and TyneMet College.

Kier regional director Mike Furz, said: “As one of the largest employers in the area we are dedicated to supporting community events.

“The Mouth of the Tyne Festival is a fantastic event for the people of North Tyneside and it is a great honour to be able to play a part in it for a fourth year running.”

Further announcements about this year’s event, including performers on the Sunday of the three-day festival, will follow in the next few weeks.
