Residents are being reminded that the Spanish City Dome will be open this weekend.
North Tyneside Council is opening the doors to the Grade-II listed building on Saturday between 10am and 3pm.
People can drop-in to see the current condition of the Dome as well as demonstrate their support for the local authority’s latest bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
They can do so by completing a postcard at the event, which are also available at libraries and Customer First Centres in the borough.
Officers will be on hand to answers questions and Mayor Norma Redfearn will also be in attendance.
In addition to informative displays about the Spanish City site’s history and the council’s current proposals to bring it back into use, visitors can also access the upper floors. However, there will be no access to the roof for health and safety reasons.
