RESIDENTS of Grosvenor Drive in Whitley Bay closed their street for a party to mark the Queen’s diamond jubilee and NewsGuardianTV was there too.
Everyone who lives on the street got involved, joining in with games, some dancing and music. There was also a buffet, with everyone bringing something different.
Children painted patterns on the pavements and with bunting hanging from the trees, there was a real carnival atmosphere along with a bouncy castle, which was also a big hit with the kids.
