Will the council continue to reject planning appeals?

I WOULD like to comment on the housing development core strategy and public consultation articles recently published.

Mayor Linda Arkley has stated on two occasions in the News Guardian (October 2011) that ‘the strategy will not see houses on the greenbelt’.

I wish to give my full support to this statement and bring to her attention the appeals reference number APP/W4515/A/11/2159579/NWF for the development of 200 properties with associated garages, along with internal roads, open space, footpath, cycle routes and landscaping to the rear of East Farm, North Ridge, Whitley Bay.

This appeal has been submitted by Taylor Wimpy to the Secretary of State as it was originally rejected by North Tyneside Council.

Will the council stand by the statements and back the decision of the planning department to reject this appeal or will we see further erosion of our greenbelt?
