A woman arrested over the murder of a man in North Shields has been released on bail.
The 22-year-old was among four people arrested by police after Uriel Moskwa was stabbed in North Shields.
Police were called to Aldwych Drive at 2.30am on Saturday, September 27, after reports of a man with a knife threatening another man.
Officers found Mr Moskwa suffering from a stab wound to his thigh. He was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital for treatment but pronounced dead eight hours later.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Musgrove, from Northumbria Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing.
“We know it will cause concern in the community but I’d like to reassure residents that we believe all those involved were known to each other and we have made two arrests.
“I’d appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they could have information vital to our investigation.”
The woman was arrested on suspicion of murder but has been bailed. A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody.
Two men, aged 27 and 21, arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and suspicion of GBH have also been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Extra police officers were in the area over the weekend to reassure local residents.
