A woman had her purse stolen by two men in broad daylight.

The victim had got off a bus in Waterville Road, North Shields, at 8am on Tuesday, August 25, when she was approached by two men.

They threatened her and stole her purse before fleeing the scene.

The victim was not injured but was left distressed and very shaken by the incident.

She did not see the offenders faces but both are described as being of slim build and around 6ft tall. One was wearing a dark coloured jacket or fleece and the other was wearing jeans.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the robbery.
