Woman talked out of cliff jump threat

A WOMAN threatening to jump off cliffs at Tynemouth was persuaded not to by police on Monday.

Police officers, fire crews, paramedics and Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade were all called out just before 1.30am on Monday.

Two police officers talked the woman, perched on a wall outside Tynemouth Priory above an 80ft drop, out of jumping and escorted her to safety.
